Ginza Sushi Ichi Restaurant Review

Went to Ginza Sushi Ichi for our termly general meeting :) haha kidding, we love sushi! Anyway Ginza Sushi Ichi is an outpost of the 3-michelin star Ginza Sushi Ichi in Tokyo. They have an emphasis on kaiseki meals, and are comparable to the likes of yoshiyuki, shinji and hashida. The manager was very organized and emailed beforehand to confirm the reservation and give additional details, great attention to detail!

We got the basic kaiseki set and it started off with a milky creamy yuba with fresh wasabi - this was good

really didn't like this dish, we didn't finish it
the fish was way too bony and it was too much effort to parse apart the meat from the bone

this was japanese ginkgo nuts, prawn, sweet potato and tempura
alright

tempura was quite heavy, wasn't as light and airy as we would have liked

sushi was alright, we asked whether the chef could make us microsushi but he said he didn't have experience in that specialty

the chirashi don was good

okay this has got to be my favorite
we handedwith a roll, and he made two rolls at one time, it had tuna, cucumber, radish and he grated yuzu skin over it
one of the best makis I had

dessert was sesame ice-cream with red bean and shiratama, which was soft and chewy - good
