Yaki Tori Shin Restaurant Review

After hearing from my friends that yaki tori shin is a Michelin star restaurant in NYC just for grilling yaki tori, I was very interested in trying this sub specialty restaurant.

First off, the service is incredible. We made an appointment for 8pm, they made us wait for 10 minutes, and explained it to us that it was because a patron brought his baby in a pram and was unable to seat us. Subsequently, when we sat down, they asked us for our soju preferences and gave it to us on the house, to apologize for the long wait.

We ordered the set and all the grill was fantastic. Another mad props to the service is when I didn't finish one of the dishes, the server asked whether I would like to substitute it with a different vegetable, and served it up on the house. Very very good and attentive service.

Mushroom with ikura and uni

My favorite! Chicken liver, crispy on the outside and soft and full of layers on the inside!

Tuna with asparagus and their special chili powder

                   Onion

This was a special stick only for the set menu! I loved it! Duck and chicken meatball marinated with their house special sauce, it was soooo good!

Perfect sweetcorn

Ochazuke! Add $2 for mentaiko (spicy cod roe)

Green tea ice-cream

Overall, service was excellent and food was good. But I do prefer izakayas which habe a wider variety of grilled items such as fish or even more exotic ingredients!!
