Spring Break!

Hello,

So I absolutely have not posted anything since term started... and ended. Medicine in Cambridge is really content-heavy, and I've been reading research papers and doing a lot of work! :) But enjoying myself still.

Went to London for a weekend with the girls. We went to The Ritz for high-tea. It's really popular, they have multiple seatings at 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm and other timings. Personally, I didn't like this structured timing, it felt really mechanical, everyone queued up at the same time, got served at the same time and went to the powder room at the same time. The fairytale spirit of high-tea got a little lost in the standardization of things. But still, at £45, I felt that I did eat a lot. They had buffet trays going round with lemon cakes and chocolate caramel cakes. They had refillable warm scones with rich clotted cream, and vanilla tarts and pink glittery macaroons. So it was good. The tea was okay. The service was good.

We went to Berner's Tavern for dinner afterwards. I really liked the decor of the place, very opulent yet tasteful. We ordered the snail with toast, lamb, salmon, scallops and squid ink rice. I think the most memorable dish for me was the snail with toast, it has to be one of the best escargot dishes I tried in my life. :) This restaurant is also opened by Jason Atherton, and as usual, he didn't fail to impress.

Attended the Churchill Ball in Cambridge, which was really fun, I think the company really plays a huge part in how enjoyable the ball is. We basically did everything, from silent disco to the bouncy castle to laser tag, to the casino, to the food spread, to the awful caricature, to the photo booths. :)

That's all for now.
