Candybridge

Things I like about Cambridge:

1. Themed Formal Dinners

There are dinners where you can go to celebrate christmas, in the middle of november, where everyone will sing merry christmas sings and eat turkey and fruitcake. There are dinners where you celebrate chinese new year and they have chinese orchestra performances. And there are harry potter dinners, where they release owls into the dining room. And it's optional to dress up as your favorite harry potter character.

They also this custom of "silvering" where if they put a silver in your dessert, you have to eat it without your hands. And "pennying", where if they place a penny in your drink, you have to down the glass quickly to "save the Queen".

 2. Garden Parties for when exams are over
-the garden parties will have have things like bouncy castles/ splat walls and Pimm's

3. May Balls, it's actually in June even though it's called May Ball
I think it's okay but everyone really enjoys it because it is a night where you pay about £150 for decadence and a lot of fun. They have things like ferris wheel, slides, bouncy castles, laser tag, candy floss, unlimited oysters and champagne, casinos, silent disco, loud disco, indie music bands, famous musicians, crepes, roasted chestnuts, fireworks. It normally starts at 7pm and people leave around 7am?

Nice Community. It has a strong campus feel so everyone is really nice.

You get to dress up in a gown for dinner or for special events.

You get to go punting on the river. But you probably won't have time when term starts.

You get assigned into a Cambridge family and so, you quickly become integrated into the Cambridge community. I think it's really sweet, and I'm currently a parent for the incoming batch. :)
