Le Gavroche Dinner
Checked out Le Gavroche for dinner a few months ago as my friend was visiting London. Have always wanted to give it a try as this is another restaurant opened by the famous and talented Roux brothers (family of chefs). Having tried the Waterside Inn (1 hour away in Bray near Fat Duck), I was quite excited for the meticulous traditional French cooking here.
Food aside, they have a really pretty ladies'.
Nice starter plate
Started off with a light pinot grigio
Roast scallops with cauliflower & brown butter sauce
Veal, done to perfection & in the background lobster poached with butter (caption + picture from my friend Jacq) :p
Loved the lobster. The sauce was exquisitely prepared!
Cheesecake with strawberries
Satisfied at the end of our meal
Passionfruit soufflé with white chocolate ice cream
was really light and airy yet the perfect denseness of a souffle
Meal was about £100 each with wine. For a 2 michelin star restaurant in London, I really appreciated the emphasis on traditional cooking with fresh ingredients, and would love to go back again! :)
